  The only Orthodox Church in Athens, GA area. Very convenient, just off of GA 316 (take Julian Dr., right on Mars Hill Rd.). The services are predominantly in English, as most of the congregation is made up of American converts to Orthodoxy, with the occasionally sprinkling of eastern Europeans and Greeks, and a sizable contingent of college students during the school year. Sunday school for the kids, various celebrations throughout the year (did I mention the food?!), and overall great opportunities to enrich one's faith and see what the original Christian faith is all about.
  A rental hall for weddings and events (affordable) is also available.

  I love this church, its such a lovely and inviting place to worship our lord. The sermons are very inspiring and uplifting. I recommend it to everyone.

  St. Philothea Church is such a warm, welcoming, friendly, family orientated congregation. They conduct lovely sermons from the dedicated faithfulls. Great Sunday School program. The teachers are very knowledgeable and compassionate. The Greek and American food we share, is quite delicious and made with a lot of love and faith.The whole atmosphere breathes holiness. From the beautiful Greek/English bible songs to the traditional icons all around us. The church really is a great place to worship our Lord in a peaceful and friendly establishment.
